With the recent opening of the new Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) and the imminent opening of our new Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) scheduled for later this year, Latrobe City Council is looking for a Facilities Officer to manage the building and plant maintenance of these key assets.

This role will be a mix of management and hands-on work, ensuring that the facilities are maintained to high level and that any maintenance required causes minimal disruption to operations.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will

  • Be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, contractors and members of the community.
  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant procedures and techniques to coordinate and undertake maintenance works.
  • Be computer savvy, with the ability use a range of computer programs including the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Be experienced in developing cyclical maintenance programs for buildings, plant and equipment and conducting and documenting regular facilities inspections.
  • Have good knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Check completed work by vendors and contractors.

A building services trade qualification and/or qualification in a relevant discipline such as engineering, facility management or similar is preferred.
