JOB DESCRIPTION

Porter House Hospitality Group PTY LTD, is seeking to employ Chefs & Cooks in the venues of 106 Vale Street, Cooma. The restaurant offers a wide range of food that allows for customer preference and choice. The restaurant is an ideal venue for a wide range of conferences, functions, and weddings. The restaurant has been operating their services under Cooma Ex-Services Club.

Role: Experienced Chefs and Cooks wanted to join our busy kitchen on a full-time basis

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 + Superannuation

Duties and responsibilities of a Chef:

  • Planning and costing extensive menus
  • Prioritize dietary requirement in menu planning
  • Estimate food requirements, proportioning of food and proper presentation as per the guidelines
  • Ordering and controlling kitchen stocks and quality maintenance of perishable items
  • Converse with managers, supervisors, dietary specialists, and other kitchen staffs about operational and food preparation problems
  • Delegate tasks to other staff within the kitchen
  • Assist in hiring, train cooks and other staffs
  • Monitor food stock and place orders when necessary
  • Perform and counsel on cooking procedures and techniques
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Annual Leave: 4 weeks

Working Hours: 38 hours / per week

Work experience: At least two years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Education/Skills:

Chef: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality
